Variables
Red-shouldered Hawk
Occurred the most disproportionately in hexagons with more than 43%
Douglas-fir - white fir - tanoak - madrone mixed forest. Somewhat less
likely in hexagons with less Douglas-fir - white fir - tanoak - madrone
mixed forest but with varied topography. Where no Douglas-fir - white
fir - tanoak - madrone mixed forest, it occurred in hexagons with less
than 3% Sitka spruce - w. hemlock maritime forest. The logistic
regression analysis showed positive or negative association with
Douglas-fir - white fir - tanoak - madrone mixed forest, topographic
variation, April precipitation (hex. max.), and-to a lesser degree-
sagebrush steppe, agricultural lands, coastal dunes and ponds, number
of land cover types, and July precipitation (hex. min.).
